I giovani guerrieri che protegono la dea Atena sono conosciuti come i Cavalieri dello Zodiaco. Un giovane orfano, Seiya, è destinato a divenire il Cavaliere di Pegasus. Atena è nata nel nostro mondo, ma questa volta è segnata da una oscura profezia secondo cui dovrebbe perdere la guerra contro Nettuno e Ade, facendo giungere alla fine della razza umana.
